Clinical and forensic psychology
The integration of psychological theory and clinical understanding for the purpose of helping clients move through psychological distress and helping them adjust and thrive in their environment. It involves psychotherapy, psychological evaluation and assessment, and formulating a treatment plan and diagnosis for each individual.
We assess and treat individuals within their sociocultural context, recognizing the role that social structure plays in mental health.
Individual and family psychotherapy
We focus primarily on individuals 15 years and older. We provide individual and family treatment with an emphasis on personal interaction and theory. This helps individuals overcome, resolve, and mitigate individual or interpersonal issues.
We specialize in areas of:
LGBTQ+ competent and affirmative,
Narcissistic abuse and complex trauma,
Narcissistic Personality Disorder,
Private consultation,
Addiction recovery,
and chronic mental illness.
Forensic evaluations
We specialize in the application of psychological practice in legal settings, including but not limited to;
civil,
criminal,
and family court.
Dr. Barrett has a background in assessing future risk of violence for mentally disordered offenders, sex offenders, sexually violent predators, and individuals found not guilty by reason of insanity. Both structured and unstructured measures are used to evaluate each potential client.
Court-ordered evaluations are taken on a case by case basis.
